Thank you for taking our survey to assess your interest in moving to "Campus Continuum at UW Oshkosh"-our planned living, learning and serving community for active adults. It should take about 10 minutes to complete.

The riverfront site is adjacent to the campus. Oshkosh is rated as one of the country's best places to live, according to Money Magazine.

Based on the outcome of this survey, UW Oshkosh (www.uwosh.edu) and Campus Continuum (www.campuscontinuum.com), a firm organizing a network of similar campus-based residences for life-long learners across the country, will assess the feasibility of bringing this unique project to fruition with the amenities you prefer most. Your participation assures that you'll receive updates as project plans unfold. Your name will not be shared with other organizations.

Project Background

"Campus Continuum at UW Oshkosh" is designed to offer a new and stimulating phase of life. As members of the UW Oshkosh Titan Academy of Lifelong Learning, residents will have access to the programs and facilities of the University, as well as seminars and other programs they organize themselves. They'll be encouraged to engage in volunteer opportunities both on and off campus. Depending on their interests and backgrounds, some residents may advise student clubs and organizations, act as tutors, part-time lecturers, mentors, or career advisors, and be an enthusiastic audience for music, theater and sports events. We hope to encourage social opportunities with the University's faculty and staff.

A Dean of Programs will coordinate relations between the University and residents, develop additional seminars and special programs, assist in matching people with courses and special interests, and coordinate social, travel and educational opportunities.

Picture yourself owning an attractive residence along the banks of the Fox River. Boat slips are available just beyond your front door. A planned 30 foot wide RiverWalk, marina and fishing pier will stretch along the river.

The proposed community of about 120 condominiums will offer a variety of attractive floor plans and price points.

UW Oshkosh Chancellor Richard H.Wells has said, "Our campus community has been working for many years with key community leaders to develop the idea of creating a living, learning and serving community. We want to bring together people of diverse backgrounds who are interested in joining our academic community and accessing our programs, services and facilities. We now have the team that can bring the project to fruition."

Former Gov. Thompson said, "This proposal is truly a new and creative alternative for America's burgeoning Baby Boomer population who are living longer and who want to stay active both physically and mentally. What a wonderful way for those in whom the country has invested so heavily to give back to society. I believe this can be a model for similar projects across the country."

About Oshkosh

Oshkosh is 20 miles from the Appleton airport and a 1½ hour drive from Madison, Milwaukee and the Wisconsin Dells. Chicago is within 3 hours.

Oshkosh and the surrounding area have a population of 85,000 people. The Fox River Valley from Lake Winnebago to Green Bay is the second most populous region in the state of Wisconsin, behind Milwaukee and ahead of the state capital of Madison. The city is located on the western shore of Lake Winnebago and is banked by the Fox River and Lake Butte des Morts in Winnebago County. Abundant wooded trails are available for biking and hiking. In winter these are used by cross-country skiers and snow mobiles. Our largest park stretches 109 acres along the shores of Lake Winnebago.
